Drug Formulation

Dragon Sand (processed: sealed in a Yangcheng jar, calcined over mulberry-wood fire until red-hot; removed after one stick of incense has burned out; cooled to form a fine, greasy powder) 2 liang; Perilla, Peppermint, Fangfeng, Jingjie, Qianghuo, Forsythia, and Qi Ai.

Processing

Take the last seven ingredients listed above, decoct them in 5 bowls of water to produce a concentrated decoction, strain out the residue, then add 2 bowls of water and decoct until reduced to 1 bowl; strain again. Combine both decoctions, clarify to remove sediment, and add 2 liang of glycyrrhiza root to a copper pot. Pour in the decoction until the glycyrrhiza root is no longer visible. Calcine until dry; repeat this process several times until all the liquid is exhausted. Then, boil the mixture three times with ginger juice; during calcination, do not allow the mixture to turn red, as this may impair the medicinal properties;Add 5 fen of cinnabar as needed.

Instructions for Use

Apply to the outer corner of the eye after meals, avoiding contact with the pupil; apply more than 10 times daily.
