Drug Formulation

2 large Aconite roots (raw, with skin and pith removed; cut each into 4 slices), Yangqishi (simmered in wine for 3 days, ground to a powder) 1 fen, Fuhuo Lingsha 1 fen (ground to a fine powder), Tianxiong 1 pair (each split into 4 slices, raw, with skin removed; combined with the Aconite roots and half liang of rock salt, simmered in 3 sheng of water until the water is completely evaporated; then sliced, baked dry, and used),Magnetite (capable of attracting 5–7 needles; calcined until red-hot, quenched in vinegar 14 times, ground to a fine powder, washed with water to remove reddish-turbid liquid) half liang (ground separately), Deer Antler (scorched to remove hair, roasted with butter) 1 liang, Elk Antler (scorched to remove hair, roasted with butter) 1 liang,Imported Fennel (roasted) 1 liang, Psoralea (roasted) 1 liang, Sichuan Angelica (soaked in wine overnight, root base removed) 1 liang, Achyranthes (soaked in wine overnight, root base removed) 1 liang,half liang of stalactite powder, half liang of black cardamom, half liang of night-bright sand, half liang of nutmeg (wrapped in flour and slow-roasted), half liang of goji berries, half liang of eucommia bark (peeled and stir-fried with salt), half liang of cloves (not exposed to fire), 2 liang of dodder seeds (rinsed clean, soaked in wine for three nights, and dried in an oven)(Grind all the above herbs into a fine powder), half liang of Arctocarpus umbilicatus (soaked in wine, ground), half liang of Agarwood (not exposed to fire), half liang of Shenqu (roasted) (grind all together into a fine powder), half qian of Musk (ground separately), 1 fen of Benzoin (dissolved in wine, ground separately), 2 liang of sheep’s marrow (ground to a paste),Cistanche 1 liang (first remove salt, grind until extremely fine), Goat testicles 1 pair (remove tendons and membranes, grind until very fine).

Processing

Combine the latter eight ingredients with 2 sheng of water in a silver or stone vessel; simmer over a double boiler, stirring constantly until it forms a paste. Mix this paste with the previously prepared powder to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 100 pills per dose on an empty stomach before meals, washed down with salted water or warm wine.

Note
