Drug Formulation

Mangostan 1 qian (head and wings removed), Whole Scorpion 1 qian (legs removed, ground separately), Aconite Root 1 piece (skin removed), Snow Paste 1 liang (dried overnight, ground separately), Agarwood Shavings 1 qian, Frankincense 1 qian, Croton Seed 1 qian (skin and oil removed), Curcuma Zedoaria 2 qian, Turmeric 2 qian, Cloves 1 qian, Gypsum Powder 1 qian (ground separately),Cardamom 1 qian, Beijing-style Sanleng 2 qian (roasted), Realgar 1 qian (ground separately), Sannaizi 1 liang, Nutmeg 2 qian, Areca nut 2 qian, Cyperus rhizome 2 qian, Licorice 2 qian (roasted until yellow), Wuyao 2 qian, Realgar 1 qian (ground separately), Musk 1.5 qian (ground separately; use high-quality musk).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder; mix with a vinegar-based flour paste to form pills the size of a small Paulownia seed; coat with cinnabar.

Instructions for Use

Take 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, or 15 pills per dose; always use an odd number of pills. Take with salted water; warm water is also acceptable. It does not deplete vital energy, eradicates the root of disease, and treats a hundred ailments. For conditions caused by specific substances, use that substance as a vehicle. For example, if caused by alcohol, take with alcohol; if caused by tea, take with tea; if caused by flour, take with flour broth;for obstruction of urination or defecation, take with warm water; for the nine types of chest pain, take with Acorus Decoction; for persistent diarrhea, take with Dried Ginger Decoction; for bloody dysentery, take with Licorice Decoction; for white dysentery, take with Chen Cang Rice Soup; for gastric reflux and vomiting of food, take with Ginseng Decoction; for the eight types of abdominal distension and hernias, take with Fennel Decoction; for women’s menstrual disorders, take with Mugwort and Vinegar Decoction;For amenorrhea, administer with Safflower Decoction or Safflower-Wood Decoction; for children’s internal injuries, nocturnal diarrhea, or undigested food from the previous meal, administer with Ginger Decoction; for women with red or white leukorrhea, administer with Astragalus Decoction; for food poisoning from beef or horse meat, administer with Meat Broth; for children’s regular use, administer with Rice Drink.
