Drug Formulation

1 liang of Sichuan melia fruit (pitted), 1 liang of horse-lily flowers, 1 liang of green tangerine peel, and 1 liang of imported anise.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder; use lacquer to form pills the size of a chicken’s head, pierce three holes with a needle, and air-dry in the shade; take half a liang of fresh cotton, burn it to ash, and grind it finely.

Instructions for Use

Mix the cotton ash with ash-free liquor to achieve the desired consistency, let it cool to room temperature, and take one pill. It may be ingested either before or during the onset of diarrhea. The pill remains intact in the stomach; to expel it, drink mallow soup, then wash it clean and set it aside. One pill is sufficient to treat 6–7 people.
