Drug Formulation

10 jin of Asparagus root (remove the core; soak in hot water for 2 days), 30 jin of raw Rehmannia root (if raw Rehmannia root is unavailable, use 10 jin of dried Rehmannia root; soak in hot water).

Processing

Place the above herbs together in a mortar and pound them. Extract the juice, add warm water, and pound again; repeat this process as many times as necessary until the herbs lose their flavor. Simmer over alternating high and low heat until it becomes a paste, then store in a porcelain jar.
