Drug Formulation

4 liang of Cistanche (washed with wine), 4 liang of Goji berries, 4 liang of Chinese yam, 1 liang of raw dried Rehmannia root, 1 liang of cooked dried Rehmannia root, 1 liang of Polygala, 1 liang of Acorus tatarinowii, 1 liang of Polygonum multiflorum (stir-fried with salt), 1 liang of dried papaya,1 liang of Achyranthes root (soaked in wine), 1 liang each of Wood Fragrance, Schisandra, Rubus fruit, Agarwood, and Fennel (stir-fried with salt), 5 qian of Dragon Bone, 3 liang of Deer Antler (roasted with clarified butter), and 1 qian of Musk.

Processing

Take 1 jin of mutton kidney meat, remove the tendons and membranes, and place it in a silver vessel with ash-free wine, adding one handful of scallion whites, 1 liang of aged tangerine peel, half a liang of green salt, and half a liang of Sichuan pepper (with seeds and closed pods removed). Simmer the meat over low heat until extremely tender. Discard the scallion whites and aged tangerine peel; grind the meat to a very fine paste, mix it with the aforementioned herbs to form pills, and coat them with cinnabar.

Instructions for Use

Take any number of pills per dose, on an empty stomach, with either wine or hot water.
