Drug Formulation

A small tuft of hair from the crown of a virgin’s head (washed with well water to remove grease; soaked in vinegar overnight; sun-dried at noon; twisted into a paper wick and burned until charred but not completely consumed), half a liang of Chuanxiong, 3 qian of Danggui, 2 qian of MuXiang, 2 qian of Taoren (soaked in water, peeled, and roasted),1 qian of benzoin, 1 qian of realgar, 2 whole scorpions, and 1 head of a large carp from the Yangtze River (cut while raw) (roasted in vinegar until crisp).

Instructions for Use

Divide into 4 doses. For each dose, use one large bowl of well water; decoct in a clean room until reduced to 8 fen, then add half a qian of powdered red, hard Agarwood. After taking the medicine, inhale vital energy into the mouth and abdomen; burn Agarwood beneath the bed. At noon, take the medicine again as before. For consumptive diseases, use this formula first; subsequently, use the Soft-Shelled Turtle Shell and Raw Rhino Horn Powder to expel parasites.
