Drug Formulation

A whole tiger bone (crushed), 10 jin of bear fat, 8 liang of Angelica sinensis, 8 liang of Chuanxiong, 8 liang of Carica papaya,8 liang of Achyranthes root, 8 liang of Eucommia bark, 8 liang of Gastrodia tuber, 8 liang of Pinellia tuber, 8 liang of Ligusticum root tips, 4 liang of Notopterygium root, 4 liang of Angelica root, 4 liang of Saposhnikovia root, 4 liang of Dipsacus root, 4 liang of Dipsacus root, 4 liang of Fenugreek, 4 liang of Epimedium, 4 liang of Cardamom, 4 liang of Sea Wind Vine, 4 liang of Drill-Earth Wind, 4 liang of Clear Wind Vine.

Processing

Use 80 jin of genuine sesame oil (sesame seed oil is also acceptable); steep for 7 days and nights, then boil down into a paste according to standard procedure. Thicken the paste with 20 jin of roasted yellow丹, and once it has nearly set, add the following spices and fine medicinal ingredients: 8 liang each of cinnamon bark, clove buds, frankincense, myrrh, dragon’s blood, and catechu; 2 liang each of camphor and natural musk. Grind these ingredients into a fine, clean powder in advance, then stir them in slowly until evenly mixed. Store in a tightly sealed porcelain jar.

Instructions for Use

Apply as a poultice.
