Drug Formulation

10 jin of Pinellia, 5 jin of white alum, 10 jin of fresh ginger, 10 jin of licorice root, and 10 sheets of gold leaf.

Processing

Soak Pinellia in rice washing water for 10 days, changing the water three times; remove, cut in half, and sun-dry; dissolve white alum in 1 bucket of water in an iron pot; place the Pinellia in the alum solution and soak for 20 days; remove, cut into four pieces, and sun-dry;Grind the ginger separately to extract its juice, then add the Pinellia to the juice and soak for 20 days; remove, sun-dry, and grind into a fine powder for future use; peel the Licorice root, grind it into a coarse powder, place it in a pot, add water, and boil several times; remove, strain out the residue through a cloth, return the clear liquid to the pot, and simmer until it becomes a paste; then form into pills.

Instructions for Use

For severe cases, use 2.5 qian of the medicine; for mild cases, use 2 qian, along with 10 sheets of gold foil. Mix these into one large pill and have the patient let it dissolve in the mouth.
