Black lead 7 qian, mercury 1 liang.

Processing

First, melt the black lead, add the mercury, let it cool and solidify, then grind into a fine powder. Place it in a pot and stir-fry slowly until it turns a bluish-green color. Separately, take 1 liang of alum,9 qian of fire-processed gypsum, 8 fen of ground soap, and 7 qian of table salt; grind them together, then stir-fry in a pan until dry and reddish. Remove from heat, grind together with the above ingredients until a bluish-green color appears, place in a jar, seal securely as described, and apply heat at a level of three wen and one wu, increasing to wu fire when the mixture begins to swell.for four sticks of incense. Allow to cool and solidify, then remove. The resulting medicine should resemble the color of a crane’s crown. Alternatively, grind raw herbs into a powder, stir-fry until dry, then grind together with the above ingredients. Store in a jar and follow the same heating protocol as before; this method yields even better results.

Instructions for Use

For internal conditions, take 1–2 fen per dose; for external toxins causing tissue necrosis, apply a small amount (about 1 li) as a poultice.
