Drug Formulation

7 qian of Aconite Root (1 large root, used raw; remove the skin and pith; cut into 4 slices), 2 liang of Magnolia Bark (remove coarse bark; coarsely chopped), 6 liang of Fresh Ginger (thinly sliced), 1 liang of Amomum (washed), 1 liang of Pinellia (washed in boiling water 7 times), 1 liang of Sichuan Pepper (remove seeds and any closed pods; stir-fry until sweating), and 1 liang of Rock Salt.

Processing

Place the above herbs in a silver or stone vessel with 5 sheng of water and simmer over low heat until the liquid has evaporated. Dry in an oven, grind into a fine powder, and form into pills using a paste of wine and flour, each the size of a Paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 30–50 pills per dose on an empty stomach or at noon, washed down with warm wine or rice water.
