Drug Formulation

Raw gypsum: 6–8 liang for a large dose, 2–4 liang for a medium dose, 8 qian–1 liang 2 qian for a small dose; raw Rehmannia root: 6 qian–1 liang for a large dose, 3–5 qian for a medium dose, 2–4 qian for a small dose; black rhinoceros horn: 6–8 qian for a large dose, 3–4 qian for a medium dose, 2–4 qian for a small dose; genuine Coptis: 4–6 qian for a large dose,medium dose: 2–4 qian; small dose: 1 qian–1 qian and a half; Raw Gardenia, Platycodon, Scutellaria, Anemarrhena, Red Peony, Scrophularia, Forsythia, Bamboo Leaves, Licorice, and Moutan Bark.

Instructions for Use

In the early stages of an epidemic syndrome, characterized by chills and fever, a splitting headache, restlessness and delirium, a hot body with cold limbs, a prickly tongue and parched lips, vomiting and diarrhea, and six pulses that are deep, fine, and rapid, administer a large dose; for deep and rapid pulses, use a medium dose; for floating, large, and rapid pulses, use a small dose. Once rashes appear, immediately add Daqingye (Isatis leaf) and increase the dosage of Shengma (Cimicifuga root) by 4–5 fen to draw the toxin outward.
