Drug Formulation

Half a jin of Schisandra leaves (finely chopped; if leaves are unavailable, the branches may be used), half a jin of Schizonepeta spikes (finely chopped).

Processing

Boil with 5 sheng of water until reduced to 2 sheng; strain out the dregs and let it settle; then add 5 he of white honey, 5 he of pear juice, and 5 he of bamboo sap, mix well, and pour into a new porcelain bottle. Cover tightly with an oiled cloth, tie it securely, and place it in a cauldron. Simmer in a double boiler, ensuring no water enters the bottle, from the fifth watch of the night until after sunrise, then stop.
